Season Overview
The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) Mountain Lions concluded the 2025 baseball season with a 23–26 overall record and a 12–18 mark in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play. Under the guidance of Head Coach Dave Hajek, the team showcased resilience and growth, highlighted by significant victories and individual milestones.
Early Season Momentum
The Mountain Lions commenced the season with promising performances, taking 3 out of 4 games the opening weekend of games in Arizona, following that with a split against Northeastern State. The Mountain Lions would then return home to play Adams State and Colorado School of Mines where they came up just short of sweeping the weekend. The Lions ended the out of conference schedule 10-5 taking three games from Colorado Christian and losing one to Regis University.
Mid-Season Highlights
After beating Colorado Christian 3 times the weekend before, the Mountain Lions kicked off conference play and swept the four-game series, with scores of 15–3, 13–3, 8–4, and 16–7. Following some mid-season struggles, the Mountain Lions split the series against Colorado Mesa on April 11. The final game of the series was as magical as it gets for the unnamed team captain, Caleb Stubbings. Coming up in the bottom of the 8th, down 5, Caleb Stubbings hit a 3-run homerun. Coming up in the following inning, Stubbings would cap off a breakout weekend with a walk-off single to take down the Mavericks.
RMAC Tournament
The Mountain Lions' postseason run concluded with consecutive losses to Colorado Mesa (3–9) and Adams State (4–6), underscoring the competitive nature of the conference.

Looking Ahead to 2026
Losing 14 seniors, UCCS is going to need to bring in a strong freshman class, as well as some key junior college contributors to fill in the gaps that are left. With all of the extra COVID-19 eligibility players now graduated, the playing field shifts to a younger group around college baseball as a whole. Most of the Mountain Lions pitching staff will be the same, which will be a key part in returning to the RMAC tournament.
