Finishing with a 23-24 record, the Mountain Lions had a great day celebrating their seniors. Even though the season did not finish on a high note, the Mountain Lions are still hopeful as they head to Grand Junction to begin the RMAC tournament on Wednesday, May 7th, where they match up against a very familiar foe in the home team, number one seed, Colorado Mesa Mavericks. Looking to do something that has only been done one time in school history, the Mountain Lions look to go into Grand Junction and walk out with some hardware.
Metropolitan State University - Denver (Apr. 25th-27th)
With only two weeks remaining in the regular season and their position still not secured, the Mountain Lions went into the weekend looking for one win. Although, the win they were looking for was not able to be picked up, the Colorado Christian Cougars tipped their cap and paid their respect for the beating they took earlier in the year after going 0-7 when matching up with the Mountain Lions. With the Cougars win over the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers, the Mountain Lions clinched the last spot in the Rocky Mountain Athletic tournament for the first time in three years.
Colorado State University - Pueblo (May 1st-3rd)
Going into this weekend, the Mountain Lions looked to bounce back from the last weekend with their rivals coming to town. The series got off to a shaky start with game one being delayed until the next day. After play was resumed on Friday, the Thunderwolves made a statement and added on 6 more runs. The Mountain Lions answered back with a strong showing in the second game. Following the Senior Day celebration on Saturday, the Thunderwolves took two more games from the Mountain Lions. Although the games did not turn out as the Mountain Lions would have hoped there was plenty to be celebrated, with 14 seniors graduating and moving on from the program.
