Week 1 (Tucson, Arizona)

The Mountain Lions hit the road to start the year and got away to some warm weather. Playing at the Kino Sports Complex. Upon entering the history rich stadium, the Mountain Lions left the weekend feeling pretty good about the year. After two strong showings including the first team shutout since the 2021 season, the Mountain Lions would split the two game set against the University of Mary Marauders. Losing by only one run in game three of the weekend set up the rubber match between the two teams. Joe McDermott showed out with a very strong start followed by a very impressive performance from Ronan Hella. The Mountain Lions would go on to win the rubber match by a score of 1-0, making this the first weekend with two team shutouts since the 2021 season as well and sending the team home holding a 3-1 record.

Week 2 (Tahlequah, Oklahoma)

After soaking up the sun in Arizona and a long off week, the Mountain Lions returned to action taking another trip to Oklahoma. Unfortunately, the weather would not look anything like the weather just two weeks earlier, as cloud cover and cold temperatures set in on Tahlequah. After the weather forced the River Hawks of Northeastern State to move the series to two double header days, the Mountain Lions would split the double header each day, winning the second game the first day and the first game the second day. After a strong showing from myself, Ryder Mancuso, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference decided the complete game performance was worthy of winning the Pitcher of the Week award. This weekend left a lot to be desired for the Mountain Lions and fueled the team in their return home.

Week 3 (Colorado Springs, Colorado)

The Mountain Lions would play host to two conference teams in a pod-style game schedule for the weekend with the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers and the Adams State University Grizzlies coming to town. Jason Fink would set the Mountain Lions up for great success in the first game of the weekend en route to a 12-6 victory. In the first match up against the Orediggers the bats would continue to stay hot for the home team, with a 13-8 victory. Two newcomers in Bryce Peterson and James Harbison would lead the way each finishing the game with 3 hits. In the Sunday match up, the Mountain Lions could not pull out the come from behind victory. After three weeks of non-conference play the Mountain Lions were sitting on a 7-4 record, heading into the final week before RMAC games kick of.

Week 4 (Lakewood, Colorado)

Leaving home once again and travelling to a foe just up the road, the Mountain Lions were looking to get the sour taste out of their mouth following the tough loss to end the weekend previous. Matching up against the Colorado Christian University Cougars at their park was something that gave the team fits last year, but not this year. The Mountain Lions would go on to outscore the Cougars 36-10 in three games, leading to three wins. After a weather conflict, Regis University looking to pick up a couple more out of conference games would be the opposing team for the last game of the weekend. In a tough battle, the Mountain Lions again would drop the last game of the weekend finishing out the non-conference schedule 10-5, providing the team with plenty of momentum entering conference play.
